WelcomeAlegria Restaurant and Bar sits at the northern end of Duke Street, overlooking beautiful Sunshine Beach, just five minutes drive from Noosa – perfect for those who want to get away from the increasingly hectic pace of Hastings Street, relax and unwind. Alegria means unification and happiness - nowhere in Noosa is there a better unification of fresh flavours, excellent service and an atmosphere of relaxation. What could be more perfect on a balmy evening than sitting out on the terrace or in the bar at Alegria, watching the sunset, relaxing with a cocktail and nibbling on olives, contemplating chef/owner Glenn Bowman’s menu, which he describes as ‘Spanish influenced Mediterranean with a Noosa feel’? Alegria ignited Sunshine Beach’s boutique restaurant scene when it opened in July 2002, quickly becoming one of the area’s most exciting and popular food destinations, attracting both a strong local following and by touring interstate and overseas visitors…..all who have been ‘wowed’ by Glenn’s consistently excellent, produce driven, flavour concentrated food. Glenn established his reputation prior to Alegria as Head Chef at Season restaurant in Noosa and at The Centennial Hotel and The Edge restaurants in Sydney. Alegria was recently awarded with 15.5 points and a Star at the Courier Mail Food & Wine Guide Awards and is rated as one of the top 10 Restaurants for Regional Queensland in the 2008 Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide. Alegria has also received numerous other awards and accolades, such as Number 1 ranking for Best Bar and Number 2 ranking for the most Popular Restaurant in the 2003 Noosa Good Food Guide. This shows that Alegria has consistently remained at the forefront of Noosa’s food scene by providing beautiful food in stylish and chic surroundings, served by professional and caring staff – a recipe for success by any standards! “I swear my taste buds didn’t know what to do with themselves as I devoured the delicious portions put before me at Sunshine Beach’s fabulous Alegria. I don’t know what I expected when I booked to go there, but it certainly wasn’t this hub of activity overlooking the beach that has combined elegant surrounds with superior-quality foods. It’s almost an insult to call what we ate food. |
